Philodendron 'Atom' is a genus in the Araceae family and contains hundreds of species. Most plants in this genus are native to tropical rainforests in Paraguay and Brazil. Most Philodendron species are climbing plants that grow up trees. The name 'Philodendron' is of Greek origin; phileo means 'loves; and dendron means 'tree'. Philodendron 'Atom' is a relatively new cultivar and makes a perfect houseplant.
