In line with this vision, three key management members have recently acquired a stake in VDE Plant, marking a significant milestone in our journey. This strategic decision reinforces our commitment to remaining a reliable and forward-thinking player in the industry for decades to come.

A Strong Foundation for the Future

Continuity has been at the heart of VDE Plant since its inception. With this new step, we are confident that we have established a solid foundation for long-term success.

Our current leadership team, comprised of Karin van der Eijk, Edwin van der Eijk, and Hein Visser, is now working closely with the next generation of leaders: Marcel van Rijn, Sven Bakker, and Joost van der Meer. These three professionals have been valuable assets to our company for years and, being on average ten years younger than the current leadership, are now preparing to take on executive responsibilities in the future.

Meet the Next Generation of Leadership

  • Marcel van Rijn – As Production Manager, Marcel has been actively involved in crop planning for years. Moving forward, he will work even more closely with Karin and the cultivation team to tackle the challenges and innovations in crop and energy management.

  • Sven Bakker – Over the past few years, Sven has worked alongside Edwin, gaining in-depth knowledge of the European trade landscape. His deep understanding of market dynamics and customer needs makes him an essential link between our organization and the market.

  • Joost van der Meer – With expertise in ICT, procurement, and finance, Joost plays a key role in streamlining and optimizing processes. His passion for people and organizational development makes him an invaluable partner in shaping a future-proof company.
