The Power of Plants | Green & Care

Green is More Than Beautiful!

Dozens of scientific studies confirm the power of plants: they make an important contribution to climate issues, biodiversity, stress reduction, health, and learning and work performance (1). These are all current topics where green can contribute to solving or alleviating problems.

Royal Lemkes and the Ronald Moerings Foundation (RMF) are joining forces to create a green oasis in and around the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek (AvL), Amsterdam's premier cancer-specialized hospital and research institute.

Greening the Central Hall and Outdoor Gardens

Together, we are committed to the greening of the central hall and outdoor gardens. This project promises not only to create a beautiful oasis but also to bring hope and confidence to those who need it most. Green in healthcare environments offers significant benefits related to patient recovery and well-being of both patients and visitors. The central hall and outdoor gardens are spaces where people gather, wait for treatments, and find moments of rest and healing.

They are also meeting places for medical professionals, researchers, and hospital staff. Around May 18th, World Plant Day, we drew special attention to the power of plants and the scientific backing behind it with this initiative.

A Symbolic Collaboration

On this day, Royal Lemkes and the Ronald Moerings Foundation began a multi-year collaboration with AvL. As a symbolic start to this partnership, all reception desks within the AvL were adorned with orchids from Opti-flor, and the outdoor gardens were planted with lavender from Van der Salm. The progress of the full greening can be followed via the social media channels of the Ronald Moerings Foundation.

VDE Plant's Support for RMF

VDE Plant has also supported the Ronald Moerings Foundation for years. As supply chain partners, we work together for a greener and healthier future!
